September 6, 2016 (Statesville, NC) — American business leader Stephen Lynn joins GGR Enterprises as a new owner and chief executive officer (CEO.) Lynn has spent the majority of his career in the franchising and chain restaurant industries. Some of his notable stops included 12 years as Chairman CEO of Sonic Corporation (Sonic Drive In), 11 years as majority owner and Chairman of Cummins Inc (the oldest largest manufacturer of signage for branded chain accounts), and Chairman CEO for Shoney’s (Shoney’s, Captain D’s, Mrs Winners, Mike Rose Salad Dressing). Lynn was exposed to Gray Gaulding during the last half of his 10 years serving on the Board of Directors for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
“GGR has always been a family run business, but Steve Lynn fits into our family and we are excited to welcome Steve to the GGR team” said Gray Gaulding. “Steve and I recently went on a racing related trip to Boston. I knew right away that he was an ideal fit with me and our team. As an owner and CEO, Steve will oversee the daily operations for GGR Enterprises and use his extensive experience and contacts to make sure we select the right partners to move my career forward.”
“Gray has been racing since he was 3 years old, won his first national title at 12, and has been Krispy Kreme’s outstanding spokesperson and NASCAR driver since turning 13 years old” said Lynn. “My five years of exposure to him assured me that he not only has the giftedness to succeed at the highest levels of NASCAR, but he has the discipline character and values to deal with the challenges that success will bring. I am grateful and honored to be a new part of the GGR Enterprises family.”
