Statesville, N.C. (June 23, 2015) A radio issue forced Gray Gaulding and the No.12 Drink Krispy Kreme Coffee Toyota team to give up their fifth place qualifying position. Gaulding was able to use all 175 laps around the 0.395-mile Langley Speedway to make his run back toward the front to a fourth place finish and his fourth top-5 of 2015.

After posting the fastest overall time between the day’s two practice sessions, Gaulding and the Precision Performance Motorsports team were poised for a good evening at Langley Speedway. After going out twenty first in qualifying Gaulding lined his No.12 Drink Krispy Kreme Coffee Toyota on the inside of row three.

With a radio malfunction during pace laps, Gaulding surrendered his starting position dropping him to the tail of the field (24th.) With 175 laps to get the job done Gaulding remained calm, cool, and collected and starting picking up positions one by one as they came to him. Gaulding was able to navigate his way into the top-10 by lap 59. Gaulding needing a caution raced inside the top-10 for over sixty laps before catching a break at lap 125. Gaulding would use the final 50 laps to pick up five additional positions and bring home a fourth place finish in the Visit Hampton, VA 175.

From the Driver’s Seat with Gray Gaulding: “The guys at Precision Performance Motorsports gave me an awesome Drink Krispy Kreme Coffee Toyota this weekend, without a doubt we were one of the teams to beat unfortunately we didn’t get to start up front and had to race our way back up there all night. We will use this week off to prepare for Columbus and hopefully unload just like we did this weekend.”

On top of Box with Crew Chief Charles Denike: “We had an outstanding race car at Langley Speedway. Unfortunately a radio issue forced us to start at the rear of the field, but Gray put on an impressive show passing 20 cars to finish 4th. Most of the work was done under green also as there were few cautions. We were definitely a force to be reckoned with and I am proud of everyone’s hard work.”
